    Josina has been working in team and leadership development for nearly 20 years, in roles ranging from team facilitator to manager of custom-designed executive development programs. She has worked with leading institutions of higher education, large global corporations and small regional firms. Josina puts these diverse experiences to work by helping individuals, teams, and organizations achieve their best through meaningful learning experiences that create sustainable change. Her work is rooted in experiential and adult learning theory, and she specializes in creating engaging workshops that align with clients’ organizational goals.

    Sample Projects:

    While at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business Josina created and facilitated professional development workshops on Emotional Intelligence (EI) in the workplace. These half-day and full-day sessions were customized for new employees of EY (also known as Ernst & Young), equipping them with interpersonal skills essential for success at the global consulting firm. Josina worked closely with the EY Talent Management team to define new employee needs, and the resulting workshops were well regarded by participants and their managers. Josina also created a separate session on team EI specifically for the EY Talent Management team.

    Facing a “silver tsunami” of retirements across the industry, BAE Systems partnered with a team of facilitators led by Josina to design and implement a two-year, cohort-based, leadership development program for mid-career professionals. Josina worked side-by-side with the client to design a flexible and responsive curriculum to meet their emerging needs. This engagement included designing and delivering multi-day, face-to-face and virtual learning experiences, and managing the team of facilitators during concurrent sessions with each cohort. The high profile program received excellent feedback and attention from VP-level BAE executives, and was credited with helping to position its participants for future leadership opportunities.

    When Velcro was undergoing significant organizational change Josina took the lead in managing a series of custom-designed workshops on topics ranging from Effective Meeting Facilitation to Change Management. She served as a SME in experiential learning, creating engaging exercises and modules to ensure the transfer of knowledge. Over the 18-month engagement Josina was involved with rolling out a set of five training sessions and a leadership retreat. Participants gained new skills, for example project management fluency, learned new norms for conduct in meetings, and became better equipped to manage change.

    Education & Interests:

    Josina holds a BA in Experiential Learning and an MA in Leadership Development, both from the University of New Hampshire. She is certified in the EQi, a tool for individuals to assess and develop their Emotional Intelligence, as well as Behavior Styles Instrument and the Belbin Team Roles Assessment. She is pursuing certification as a team coach with CRR Global’s Organizational and Relationship Systems Coach program. When not working Josina is focused on her family and on playing outside. She enjoys running, and relishes quiet moments with a cup of good strong coffee and an interesting book.
