Sophie is a veritable self-starter with more than six years of experience in sponsorship, development and project and event management for large-scale events and engagement programs. She initially cut her teeth in the non-profit and start-up sector in Seattle, which has taken her across the U.S. and internationally, before adding technology industry experience supporting clients including Microsoft.
Sophie believes that communication, creativity, and collaboration are critical to the success of any project. Her holistic approach and follow through on these key points reaches every phase of pre-planning, communication, implementation, and activation, all the way down to the on-the-grounds operations and assessment of results.

A recent Microsoft engagement saw Sophie responsible for drafting and executing the communications strategy for Microsoft’s Solution Sales Specialist Summit (“S4”) – a twice-yearly in-person conference for Microsoft’s specialist sales force. Working closely with the event Communications Manager, Sophie drafted the overall communications plan and managed the day-to-day execution of its associated deliverables. Key deliverables included attendee newsletters, the event website, the event’s social media presence and management of its email support function. Sophie also supported content development logistics for the conference Cloud and Enterprise Sales track.
As Associate Manager, Corporate Development for Sundance Film Festival, Sophie was responsible for supporting branding and activation for leading brands including Acura, Canada Goose, Chase, Kenneth Cole, LUNA, Southwest Airlines and more. This project included facilitating municipal permitting and planning process for client venues and Festival activations, planning, and logistics for sponsor film screenings and events, managing product promotions, sponsor giveaways program, Kenneth Cole Volunteer Video Vignette shoot, and a host of other activities.
A project with Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) saw Sophie responsible for end-to-end management of MIFF’s “Talking Pictures” series – a program of festival events including panels, group discussions and masterclasses involving more than 80 local and international filmmakers, industry professionals, entertainment media, and academics. Sophie managed programming planning, event and venue logistics, stakeholder coordination and communication, and staffing management for the series.
Education and Interests:
Sophie holds dual Bachelor Degrees in Strategic Communications (Public Relations, Branding and Reputation Management) and Sociology from Seattle University. She is a Talevich award recipient and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors.
During the year, she travels across the U.S. and overseas working on various passion projects. She considers herself a pop culture junkie and enjoys film, traveling and adding to her ever-growing stamp collection.
