Gail Flynn is an evangelist for SharePoint and related communication and collaboration technologies, bringing to her projects more than 25 years of creative project, administrative, event management, communications, and continuous process improvements experience. She delivers elegant “out of the box” site designs, as well as thoughtful and easily maintained front-end customized development and tool solutions, documentation, support, and training.
Gail is particularly skilled at bringing file organization solutions to existing non-standardized content, such as legacy file systems or SharePoint instances that have grown organically without governance. She works closely with clients to put processes and guidance into place that will protect company data and reduce ongoing maintenance burdens while improving user adoption.

In 2017 Gail developed a new SharePoint Online-based portal for Microsoft’s security organization. Working as a “one-stop shop”, Gail identified and engaged stakeholders, gathered user requirements, assessed existing legacy tools to be incorporated into the portal, and facilitated the site design. She performed custom and out-of-the-box development (including complex forms and workflows), identified site collection risks, supported legacy code maintenance and replacement, and migrated team sites from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online. She also provided high priority access/permissions and executive response, and managed the support of multiple site collections over the ensuing year. While at Microsoft Gail was delighted to note that an IT project tracking tool she had designed years earlier using SharePoint 2007 was still in use, with its design principles adopted as a “best practice” for other Microsoft internal tools.
Gail worked with Russell Investments, FTSE Russell, and the London Stock Exchange Group on a 2014-2016 project to automate existing processes and migrate existing platforms and content into a SharePoint 2013 environment. Gail’s role included improving the user experience and helping business units adopt modern efficiencies. As the only SharePoint expert on site, Gail spanned development, training and documentation, including creation of branded site and page templates.
For F5 Networks Gail reinvented the Office 365/SharePoint Online team sites used by the organization’s Human Resources department. This was a particular challenge as the sites needed to satisfy additional security and access restriction requirements without compromising design and functionality. Gail created custom mobile and full screen master pages, page layouts, .css and .js files, and custom web parts for the new environment.
