SAMPLE PROJECTS:

At PeaceHealth Jennifer was responsible for creating a system-wide Lean Green Belt training program. This program helped to align frontline caregivers with the knowledge, understanding, and tools to help drive improvement both locally and across the organization. It also enabled frontline caregivers to work hand in hand with local and system leadership during the training classes as well as on Green Belt projects, building relationships and collaborating to align local and leadership needs. During a project at Providence Health & Services Jennifer used her process improvement skills to focus on increasing patient satisfaction scores in several key nursing areas, as well as addressing high volumes of staff missed meals and breaks. Jennifer worked with teams to map current state swim lane diagrams that included all levels of staffing and responsibilities. They collectively identified improvement opportunities and gaps within the current state, then conducted pilot improvement projects on two units, with 30/60/90-day checks to assess progress. Following these tests, an additional slate of interventions was created, including daily staffing huddles, standard work, and hourly quality checks, with the pilot units achieving an increase in satisfaction scores by 11% and 26%. The project was ultimately rolled out across nine floors of the hospital, and it received both the President’s Excellence and Top Ten Achievement Awards.

For the IT Department at HealthFirst Jennifer worked with the Plan, Build and Run teams to identify gaps within their current documentation processes, and to identify and document current skills matrices. Standard work was created including Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and annual tasks, as well as job aids and an internal review process to keep the standard work up to date and correct. A RACI model was also created with SOP documentation to help the team clearly see and understand roles and responsibilities within the IT Department and with stakeholders.
